Happy New Year!

As we launch into 2025, it's the perfect moment to reflect on a year rich with extraordinary stories and unforgettable cars from around the globe. The past year was packed with moments that remind me why I cherish this scene so much. A month ago, we traveled to Japan for the Yokohama Hot Rod and Custom Show, a trip I have been dreaming about for 15 years. It was my first visit to Asia, and what an introduction it was! The show was an eye-opener, packed with stunning builds and passionate enthusiasts. It truly underscored the global connection we share through our love of hot rods and custom cars.

2024 was also a year packed with great moments and journeys beyond Yokohama. I had the fantastic opportunity to meet Kustomrama Contributor and good friend Clean Gene during my trip to Las Vegas, a true legend in our community and a wellspring of stories and enthusiasm. Back home, we hosted the 14th annual Coupe Devils Rod & Kustom Bonanza, an event that continues to draw enthusiasts from all corners, celebrating the spirit and creativity of the kustom culture alongside my brothers in the Coupe Devils car club. Another thrilling moment was witnessing the newly restored "Wild Bird" at the Oslo Motor Show. Seeing this iconic custom back in its glory was a real treat for everyone, adding a special touch to the year’s events. Being allowed to cover Marius Kristiansen's 1951 Ford with hot, licking flames was another highlight of the year for me!

As tradition holds, we've compiled the annual Kustomrama Top 10 list, spotlighting the stories that resonated most in 2024. This year's lineup is a vivid snapshot of our culture's diversity and creativity, featuring everything from the resurgence of iconic classics like The Uncertain-T and the Norman Timbs Special to celebrating legends like Gene Winfield and welcoming new heroes like Darryl Starbird. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the Kustomrama Top 10 Stories of 2024 and revisit the moments that made this year unforgettable:

Kustomrama Top 10 Stories of 2024

Shuten’s announcement promised an exciting reunion with the Uncertain-T at the 2024 Grand National Roadster Show and Detroit Autorama, sparking widespread enthusiasm among enthusiasts. The resurgence of the Uncertain-T wasn't just a triumph for car culture—it was a poignant moment in Steve Scott's legacy. His groundbreaking vision, which challenged conventions and inspired generations, was brought back into the spotlight for all to admire. Tragically, this rediscovery also coincided with Steve’s passing on March 17, 2024, adding a bittersweet note to this monumental year.
